Your website can always be accessed from your default Exhibit domain. This will look something like:

yourname.exhibit.site

But you can also connect a custom domain to your account. For example:

 yourname.com

It is fairly easy to do, but there are a few technical steps to get this done.

Step 1. Go to Settings

Step 2. Tap or click on Domain

Step 3. Go to the Custom Domain section

Step 4. Enter your custom domain

You need to own your custom domain before you can connect it to Exhibit. If you don't have a custom domain yet, purchase one from a third-party domain registrar first. (We like namecheap.com.) Once you've got your domain, enter it into the field and click or tap on Confirm.

Pro tip: You don't need hosting or anything else for your domain. Purchasing a domain from a registrar typically only costs about $10-15 per year.

Step 4. Update your DNS records

You'll need to login to your domain registrar and update your DNS records. You can select your registrar from the list to see the proper labels and fields.

We've assembled specific DNS instructions for common registrars to try and help you out.

Once you've updated DNS, click or tap the Verify button. If your DNS for the domain matches what we need, the field will change to show your custom domain and a Verified confirmation.

You can test your custom domain now to see if it correctly points to your Exhibit website. Note that it may take 2-3 hours for DNS to update. If you do not see your Exhibit website from your custom domain after 3 hours, please contact us.
